South State, Inc., established in 1971, is a major road construction and asphalt manufacturing firm in southern New Jersey. There are two locations, one in Bridgeton and one in Williamstown, each with an asphalt plant, truck scale, and quality control laboratory. The Bridgeton location also has soil remediation apparatus with a containment building, a recycling center (reclaimed asphalt, concrete, concrete blocks, bricks, and glass), a sand washing plant, and a dredge.
