South State, Inc. is an accomplished and well known asphalt paving and heavy highway contractor focusing primarily on the South Jersey market. For over 35 years, South State has successfully completed numerous paving and road construction contracts both as a subcontractor, and as a general contractor working directly for public agencies and private owners. Over the past five years, South State has expanded its operation into the heavy highway industry, completing several significant bridge construction and demolition projects. Our primary customers are the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the South Jersey Transportation Authority as well as various counties and municipalities. 

South State has two materials manufacturing facilities in South Jersey; one in Bridgeton and one in Williamstown. Both facilities are capable of manufacturing a variety of today’s most commonly required mixes of asphalt. The Bridgeton location is a certified Class B Recycling facility which also includes a sand mining operation and a concrete crushing operation (DGA manufacturing). Our high volume manufacturing operations and sophisticated quality control technicians have helped to provide both our construction projects, and our outside customers with the some of the finest materials in the state for several decades.
